UFF-UF is just one chapter of United Faculty of Florida (UFF), which represents more than 18,000 faculty members, graduate students, and professional employees at Florida’s eleven public universities, eleven state colleges and community colleges, and three independent universities.
UF’s chapter of Graduate Assistants United (GAU-UF) is also a chapter of UFF.
UFF is a local of the Florida Education Association (FEA), which represents more than two hundred locals with 250,000 educators in Florida, from K-12 and higher education institutions. The FEA, in turn, is affiliated with both of the major national educators’ unions, the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the 3.2 million-member National Education Association (NEA).
The 1.3 million-member AFT is a member of the AFL-CIO, the 12.2 million-member federation of labor unions. Through this affiliation, UFF-UF also participates in the AFL-CIO’s regional central body, the North Central Florida Central Labor Council.
