Bargaining update, June 30, 2015

August 06, 2015

As you know, salary negotiations between the university and the union resumed this week, following the budget agreement reached by the legislature recently. UF fared well in that budget, with substantial additional funding to help it in its aspirations to become a leading public university. It was therefore all the more surprising and disappointing to learn that the administration proposes a mere 0.5% salary increase for next year. We requested an explanation but received none. Our next meeting is at 1:30 pm, Thursday, July 2, in Griffin-Floyd 303. You may be sure that as negotiations continue, your bargaining team will press for a raise that is more commensurate with your contributions to UF’s success.
