Speeches from the Coalition: Thursday June 7, 3:30 pm, Emerson Hall & Call to Action for the Final Vote: Friday June 8, 10:30 am, Emerson Hall

The Save UF, Spend the Reserves Campaign invites you to tell the UF Board of Trustees to reject a proposed budget that would reduce numbers of graduate assistantships, eliminate staff positions, and ultimately damage our University as an educational institution.  We believe that as the different groups who make the University run, we need to send the Board an important message: Save UF, spend the reserves!

The coalition of GA’s, faculty, staff and students (“Save UF, Spend the Reserves”) will each have an opportunity to speak to the Board of Trustees at the Committee on Educational Policy and Strategy on Thursday (June 7) at 3:30 pm in President’s Room 215C.

The final decision will be made Friday (June 8) at 10:30 AM in President’s Room 215B.  Media will be present on Friday, so it is vital that faculty and graduate assistants come out to show their disapproval of the proposed budget plan and to demonstrate their commitment to finding alternative ways to help UF deal with these one-time budget cuts.

For more information on the cut in state funding and on UF’s reserves and for an independent analysis of the state audit, please visit the campaign’s website at www.SaveUF.org.  Please sign this petition at change.org and like us on Facebook.
